Chances are you’ve been well aware of the partial solar eclipse/new moon duo of August 11th but if you haven’t heard about the meteor shower that comes with you are in for a treat. This meteor shower is one most people wait all year for and is going to be spectacular!

This meteor shower will peak tonight and tomorrow night. While it began in July and will officially end around August 24th the night of the 11th and 12th will be the best nights to view. It is thought that hundreds of meteors per hour will be raining down on us all but those numbers could be anywhere from 20-100 per hours depending on where you are and so forth. It is most likely to be about 60-70 per hour though regardless of your location weather permitting.

Since the moon will be seemingly nonexistent tonight and tomorrow night things are matching up perfectly. Every summer this shower brings forth so many wishes for all of us and if you’ve never watched a real meteor shower before, you should definitely take a peek outside tonight. These meteors will be much more prominent in the sky and radiate from the constellation Perseus. Getting out of the city and into the darkness will give you the best view possible.

NASA wrote as follows in regards to this shower in specific:

“Perseids are also known for their fireballs,”

“Fireballs are larger explosions of light and color that can persist longer than an average meteor streak. This is due to the fact that fireballs originate from larger particles of cometary material. Fireballs are also brighter.”

“However, the constellation for which a meteor shower is named only serves to aid viewers in determining which shower they are viewing on a given night,”

Now, while they do come from the same area as this constellation they are made from the debris of the comet Swift-Tuttle. The Perseids are best if viewed from the Northern Hemisphere during pre-dawn hours and can sometimes be seen as early as 10 pm. For more information on this shower check out the video below.

Making wishes on shooting stars is something most of us have all wanted to do or have done at one point or another. This is the perfect time for you to be able to really work towards manifesting more things in your life. Even if you think wishes are silly, this is an experience you shouldn’t miss out on.

There is a lot of magic and energy surrounding the Perseids meteor shower in general. The more positivity you put out during this time the more positivity you will bring in. Don’t waste any time during the next two nights. To read about the legends surrounding this shower click here.
